Nation Simulator Privacy Policy
Nation Simulator ("the game") is made by NationSimGame ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the game uses, where it goes, and the choices you have. If you have a question, email us at info@nationsimgame.com.
The short version
- The game is built to work offline. Your campaigns are saved on your phone.
- We don't run any servers, and the game doesn't send anything to us.
- There are no ads, no analytics, no tracking tools and no third-party SDKs other than Google Play Games.
- If you choose to connect Google Play Games, your saves are backed up to your own Google Play Games account so you can keep playing on another device.
- If the game runs into a problem, you can choose to send us a report. Nothing is sent unless you send it.
- We never sell your information or share it for advertising.
Information that stays on your phone
The game stores these things in its private storage on your device. Other apps can't read them, and they don't leave your phone unless you connect Google Play Games (see below):
- Your campaigns: the countries you play, your decisions, and the game's progress, including any names you type into the game, such as a renamed country.
- Your game account items: Gems, distinctions and unlocked content.
- Settings: your game preferences, such as whether cloud saves are on.
- An error log: a short record of problems the game hit (for example, a failed save or a crash), so that the game can recover and so that you can include it in a report if you choose to.
Android device backups are turned off for this game, so this information is not copied into your Google account's device backup. Uninstalling the game deletes all of it from your phone.
Google Play Games (optional)
When you first open the game, you can choose Connect Google Play Games or Play offline. You can also connect or turn off cloud saves later from the main menu.
If you connect, Google Play Games signs you in and gives the game your Play Games player ID. The game keeps that ID on your phone so it can keep each player's saves separate. It then uses Google Play Games "Saved Games" to store, in your own Play Games account:
- a copy of each campaign save, labelled with the country name, the in-game day, your play time and a progress number, and
- your Gems, distinctions and unlocks.
Only you, signed in to the game, can read these saves. We (the developer) can't see them, because they live in your Google account and not on any server of ours.
Google Play Games is a Google service, and Google handles that information under the Google Privacy Policy. Google's Play Games software may also collect its own diagnostic and usage information to keep its service working. Google encrypts this traffic with HTTPS. You can control your Play Games profile and its visibility in the Google Play Games settings.
If you turn off cloud saves, the game stops uploading and your saves stay on your phone. Copies already in your Play Games account stay there until you delete them (see Deleting your information).
Problem reports (only if you send one)
If something goes wrong, the game can prepare a report to help us fix it. The game never sends a report on its own. You decide whether to send it, and where: for example, you pick the email app or the file location yourself.
A report can include:
- the game's version,
- your phone's manufacturer and model, Android version, language and time zone,
- details of the error, and
- a description of the current campaign state and your recent in-game actions, and
- a copy of your saved game, so we can reproduce the problem. It holds your campaign, including any names you typed into the game.
A report doesn't include your name, your contacts, your location or your Google account details. If you email us a report, we also receive your email address and anything you write. We use reports only to find and fix problems, and we delete them once the problem is fixed or after 12 months, whichever comes first.
Purchases
The game doesn't currently sell anything for real money.
What we don't collect
The game doesn't ask for and doesn't use your location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone, phone number, email address, advertising ID or browsing history. It doesn't show ads and doesn't use analytics or tracking services.
Children
The game is intended for players aged 13 and over. It isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Deleting your information
- On your phone: deleting a campaign slot in the game removes that campaign. Uninstalling the game removes everything the game stored on your phone.
- In Google Play Games: when you're connected, deleting a campaign slot in the game also deletes that campaign's cloud copy. To delete everything, including your Gems and unlocks, open Google Play Games, go to your profile settings, and delete this game's data (or delete your Play Games account), or use your Google Account settings at myaccount.google.com.
- Reports you sent us: email info@nationsimgame.com and we'll delete them within 30 days.
Security
The game's private storage is protected by Android. The only network traffic the game makes goes to Google Play Games over encrypted HTTPS, and the game blocks unencrypted connections.
Changes to this policy
If the game starts handling information differently, for example when in-app purchases are added, we'll update this page and change the effective date at the top. Significant changes will also be mentioned in the game's update notes.
